All news about Vtu... Especially about CET..
COMEDK is a parallel entrance test held by the Karnataka Private Medical & Dental Colleges Association under the name of Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK). This is independent of the government CET and is used to fill up private management's quota of seats in certain engineering/medical/dental colleges in Karnataka. Non-Karnataka students can appear for the COMEDK.

The Common Entrance Test is conducted by the CET Cell on behalf of the Karnataka government for the purpose of admission of students to the I year or I semester of full time courses in Medical, Dental and Engineering Courses in professional colleges within the State of Karnataka that fall to the share of the State Government.
At present only Karnataka students (as opposed to non-Karnataka students) can write the Common Entrance Test. All seats in government colleges are filled through CET. However, majority of colleges in Karnataka are private. The seat sharing for private college seats between the government(CET) and private college managements (through COMEDK) is a matter of discussion, and presently changes every year.
Visit the CET 2008 Home page for more information on this years CET.
